Ready to go!

The Roaring River Project it’s ready to go! Next month we’ll be presenting our vision about tourism in Roaring River and discussing new opportunities of development within the community. We think that the best way to cooperate with “fair tourism” is promoting self-sufficiency of local communities willing to develop their tourist potential and our vision of Community-based Tourism is clear:

1. Community-based Tourism must contribute to increasing and/or improving conservation of natural and/or cultural resources, including biological diversity, water,
forests, cultural landscapes, monuments, etc.
2. Community-based Tourism must contribute to local economic development through increasing tourism revenues and other benefits to community participants, and ideally to an increasing number of participants.
3. Community-based Tourism must have a level of participation ideally progressing toward self-mobilization, but not always necessarily so.
4. Community-based Tourism has a duty to the visitor to provide a socially and environmentally responsible product.
